To many, the idea of spending over 60 days crossing 3,000 miles of the Atlantic in a rowing boat would be immediately dismissed. However, in late 2024 and into early 2025, Oar Mighty Mates 2C; a two-man team from Kent and Devon, England, will take on the World’s Toughest Row Atlantic Challenge.
Andy Purvis and Tim Cox will compete in the challenge to raise money for two charities:
Dementia UK who play a vital role in supporting those living with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
Abigail’s Footsteps, a baby loss charity providing support and counselling for bereaved parents as well as specialist bereavement training for midwives and healthcare professionals.
You can be involved too, either by supporting us with our fundraising efforts or become a corporate sponsor. Click the link below to see the range of corporate sponsorship options for you to consider.
Every donation no matter how big or small is appreciated and will make a difference.
With this in mind, we’re devoted to forging mutually beneficial collaborations with organisations and individuals that share our vision of changing lives through a massive campaign based on co-operation, determination, and collaboration.

BECOME OUR TRAINING PARTNER
This is a crucial partner. We have been lucky to secure the support of Stephanie Unthank-Latter (and her associates) as our professional fitness, nutrition, mindfulness and wellbeing coach. Stephanie will ensure our mind and body health.
Stephanie is an experienced corporate cultural change maker. She helps businesses develop and embed a sustainable wellness and mindfulness culture, boost productivity, and create a happy, engaged workplace.
To supplement our ambitious goals we need gold sponsorship support.
BECOME OUR TRANSPORT PARTNER
Getting our boat safely to La Gomera is just one half of the puzzle. Getting the boat from Antigua back to the UK is the other half and we are looking for a transport partner.

WATER MAKER PARTNER
Our crossing would not be possible without this most vital piece of equipment. The watermaker that almost all rowers use is from Mactra Marine. Fund this vital piece of equipment for us and be part of the main action!
COMMUNICATIONS PARTNER
Sat phone, laptop and other communication devices are vital for us to be able to communicate during the crossing. This includes updates from the Duty Officer at WTR, interviews with radio stations and other publications and media outlets and of course with our sponsors!
MARKETING PARTNER
We’re lucky to have secured the partnership services of BEE HERD LTD who are our marketing and activation partners for the entire challenge. Closely supported by the team at WTR Bee, (AKA Belinda Prescott-Collins) and her team will guide us on all things marketing and activation up to, including and post event activity for the challenge.
