For 10 years, Sporting Memories have been using the power of remembering and talking about sport, alongside physical exercise to tackle dementia, depression and loneliness. They are dedicated to bringing older adults together. Those who come to their online or community-based clubs may be isolated, or living with depression, dementia or other long-term conditions. They are fans, former players or family members with one thing in common: a love for sport.
They also work to enhance the lives of younger people, through intergenerational projects.
And by working with academic institutes and organisations, they are able to evaluate the positive health and social impact of their work and partnerships. With the support of their partners, they run projects and campaigns.
